The Words That Describe Me

The word that describes a moth on a flame's tip
Is my latest name,
To pronounce this word would mean sudden death
For our breathful game,
Seek out the maiden enclosed in glass-silent
To prove out my claim.

The word that describes a kiss from forbidden lips
Was my previous label,
To reconjure this word would mean annihilation
Of our living fable,
Search for the memoirs of the forgotten soldier
To see if he's still able.

The word that describes a child's gentle touch
Was one of my first,
No one can revive it-- time has taken this
Leaving here its thirst,
Never mind the search.... what's gone is mist
No bubbles here to burst.

The word that describes who I see myself as
Is so hard to explain,
To utter it out loud amongst everyday aires
Would sound too plain,
So, I keep it quiet but, if you look closely
You'll know why it reigns.
