The Taste of Conversation

The taste of conversation:
How I miss the sweetness,
How I miss its brief tartness--
When will I have some more....

Solitude is junk food:
Won't hurt if eaten in moderation.
I grow fat in my time here,
Way too many helpings for me.

One day I received a sampler:
Snipets of a weekend get-together--
The box of nuggets I ate too fast;
Now I must wait another month.

My credit card's limit has been reached,
Used for products I'll never need:
Over the telephone I found a friend--
Wonder how he'll take the news....

The taste of conversation:
Too sweet for me to indulge,
Too sour for me to forget--
When will I have some more?
