The First Day of the Beginning
This is not a goodbye,
This is the sun in the East;
This is the garden of Eden,
Not the belly of the beast;
This is her beginning
To a life in her control,
Do with it what you must
But remember your last black-hole.
The first day of the beginning
She looks all around the room,
There are others here with her
Who'll share with her a new bloom;
At first, she feels adversarial
Soon she'll come to find
All the others are with her
They share with her a common vine....
This is not a goodbye,
This is the sun in the East;
This is the garden of Eden,
Not the belly of the beast;
This is her beginning
To a life in her control,
Do with it what you must
But remember your last black-hole.
The first day of the beginning
She starts to feel in place,
Looking deep inside herself
She discovers a peaceful face;
As the time goes on and on
She might discover another side,
The one all the years had buried
A side now allowed to be occupied....
This is not a goodbye,
This is the sun in the East;
This is the garden of Eden,
Not the belly of the beast;
This is her beginning
To a life in her control,
Do with it what you must
But remember your last black-hole.
The first day of the beginning
She allows herself some tears,
Expel all those cancerous demons
Those who controlled her for years;
She takes the time to analyze
Those streams running down her cheek,
Within are the warriors and saviors
Who she worked so hard to seek....
This is not a goodbye,
This is the sun in the East;
This is the garden of Eden,
Not the belly of the beast;
This is her beginning
To a life in her control,
Do with it what you must
But remember your last black-hole.
