One Too Many Needs

Rendered helpless by a mortal fear
Of lonely night with no one near,
She seeks out those who live to hurt
That use and treat her like so much dirt,
She suffers but doesn't have a choice
No one can hear her own-muffled voice;

She dreams of ways to escape the pain
But her needs wash them down the drain,
Trapped in romances of their own design
They say " Let the punishment fit the crime ",
Silent victim forced to reside on skid row
While her needs walk around in regal robes;

A battle is brewing upon an inner plane
Her needs are up against a life led of pain,
Needs' advantage is the roots it has planted
Her weakness the thoughts which've been slanted,
Battle rages within both cranial hemispheres
Its bloodshed treading her face in tears;

The battle, to this day, still being waged
At times, both factions were cornered and caged,
Will this fight, one day, come to an end
That's something no one could comprehend,
The battles that exist within a human mind
Can go forever, digging too deep to find.
