I Call Again

For so long I've been worthless,
Meeking along in shadows,
Pining in private moments for my departed voice.
Mute thoughts pass through my mind.
Mumbled ideas made their way, too....

I call you.

An invitation to return
To wring out last writhings.
Our journey wasn't finished.
You gave up on me--
The gall you possess, such a strong infliction!
Whose hand shattered the ivory?
Whose hand filled empty space?
Yet, you gave up on me....

I call again.

The void remains intact:
No shards for me to sweep, no cuts for me to gauze
Dry, spotless, sanitized
The white has taken over!
An army hundreds strong!
My sword only toothpick--
My cunning in the mist....

I call again.

Are you frightened? There are no rings to wear.
Each needs the other.... how hard is it to speak now?
Sometimes, I had to push!
You were around but not there,
In touch but on the other side.
Were you really oblivious or were you just being cruel....

I call again.

There you are.... but, then, you're gone!
The notes left, illegible,
Something about lonliness:
In the slightest scribble lies secrets.
What are you saying....
Why can't we talk, anymore?
We used to fill time so easily--
My trust was never returned in kind....

I call again.

In sleep, you arrive-- you know my hands are useless!
You dance and sing aloud while I sit there and cry.
I couldn't stop your laughter-- why the need to tantalize?
Sadistic fool or jealous lover:
Either doesn't get you free
Only I have hold of the key....

I call again.

We agree to talk, both unarmed and honest.
I admit that I need you-- I'd like to hear it, too.
Into quiet light we escape, I take sword to hand!
The army of white is charging!
The battleplan has been prepared--
Into the fray we have returned....

I call again.

Out loud trumpeted the victory of our lives!
The white army has disappeared.....
Planted are seeds, and these seeds will grow....
Even now, others shall see the garden we have grown.
This garden is but the first....
One day, we hope to cover the world!

Go on to if we seek....
