She sleeps....
And so the battle wages,
She sleeps....
The tug-of-war still rages,
Hope and despair
Fight to be the heir
Of a castle with a thousand cages;

She tosses....
The forces capture a cell,
She turns....
Another wall has fell,
Hope and despair
Cannot begin to repair
The damage uncertainty has compelled;

She thinks....
The pain is her blame,
She thinks....
The pain has a name,
Hope and despair
Slowly laying bare
Those two sides are really the same;

She cries....
The wounds run deep,
She screams....
The truth now seeps,
Hope and despair
Have taken her there
To a place where doubts are reaped;

She blocks....
Out her pathetic past,
She's locked....
Away this sordid cast,
Hope and despair
Found the secret lair
The show can be seen at last;

She shakes....
Doubts do a routine,
She awakes....
To a horrible scene,
Hope and despair
Her inseparable pair
Entwined forever on the silver screen.
