You, a distant, subtle beauty
Me, still a child and afraid

Wearing the gentleman’s shroud
I have a thought, desiring release

Momentary bravery strutting forth
Gone when destination’s reached

The trust and common respect
Not close to being breached

You, still a distant, subtle beauty
Me, always a child and afraid….
