RALPH Poetry
I began writing poetry about ten years ago, sometime after reading the
poetry of Jim Morrison, lead singer of the Doors. I began to take
it much more seriously, really worked at it, when I heard the songs and
read the lyrics of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed. The final
crystilization came after hearing and reading the estatic poetry of
Jelaluddin Rumi, a 13th-Century mystic poet, as translated by Coleman
Barks. The links below contain the results of these stages of
developement.
Please note: Any title or a first line of a poem that is in blue
is a link to a recording of me reading the poem.
